• Do's
  • If you have a website, that doesn’t have a sitemap page. Then it is advisable to create one and place a link on the top-left or top-right part of every webpage of your website.
  • Try to link with most of the other website pages from each webpage
  • Monitor your website to check for broken links.
  • Incase you are planning to have a links or resource page for two way link then it is advisable that, that page is only linked with home page and not with other internal pages of your website.
• Don'ts
  • Search engines especially Google don’t like clone of website/webpages or even duplicate content is several webpages of a website. On doing so, it may reduce your website PR or can even ban your website.
  • In order to increase website rankings or PR, webmasters tend to place hidden text and links in their website intentionally normally stuffed with keywords/keyphrases. This text is not easily visible to visitors since text color matches the background color of the webpage. This technique is not a good practice and should be avoid since nowadays search engines are made smarter to detect such kind of hidden text and links.
  • Doorway Pages are specially designed for search engines, stuffed with targeted set of keywords and links with keyword rich content for driving traffic to the website. Mostly these pages don’t carry professional look and hence don’t appeal much to visitors. (Previous) (Contd.)
