Important Terms and Concepts related to SEO

• Google Dance
  After every deep crawling activity of Google, may lead to PageRank update and variation in search engine ranking results. It is because that Google tries to update its database on its different servers causing variation in rankings on different servers. This process is called Google Dance.
  
  
• Keyword Density
  The number of times the keyword appears in the webpage divided by the total number of indexable words in the webpage is termed as Keyword Density.
  
  
• Keyword Prominence
  Placing of targeted keywords in various important parts of the webpage such as title, meta tags, heading, sub heading etc are given importance by search engines. So, keyword prominence determines how relevant the webpage is in respect to a particular keyword.
  
  
• Keyword Proximity
  Any keyword phase consists of more than one keyword. So, keeping these keywords together or as close as possible is termed as Keyword Proximity. More occurrences of same keywords, not essentially to be near every time, but makes sense and are in context of the webpage, adds values in the eyes of search engines.
